Taylor Hinds

(Alto)

Get to know Taylor

What are you doing in school?
"I'm studying early education at St. Vincent College."
How long have you been singing in choirs?
"Since second grade."
What is your favorite musical memory?
"Probably when I got a gospel solo in all county chorus in seventh grade. That was so much fun!"
Do you have any special talents outside of music?
"Knitting and color guard."
Who is your favorite composer?
"Joan Szymko, because she's an amazing female composer who writes amazing music for females."
Who's your favorite non-classical musical artist?
"Taylor Swift, because it's Taylor Swift."
What song have you not been able to stop listening to?
"Burn, from Hamilton."
If you could turn anything purple, what would it be?
"My hair!"
Whales or trains?
"Whales, duh!"
What's your favorite sports team?
"Nats or Orioles, I can't choose... or the Caps. I guess all three. But I don't like sports, so whatever"
What's your favorite thing about singing in Lux?
"I just really love to sing!"
What's your favorite song that you've sung with Lux?
"It's between Entreat me not to leave you [by Dan Forrest] and Silence [by Kevin Memley]."

On a long road trip, would you rather an eagle or a chinchilla pick the music, and why?
"Well it depends on my mood and when it was. I would choose an eagle if it was the 4th of July because 'Merica and I would choose a chinchilla for every other time because I feel like a chinchilla would be really into Disney and that's my preferred road trip music. But I guess it also depends on my mood because sometimes I just really want to drive with my windows down blasting country music, so if I wanted that I would choose an eagle. But in the long run, I identify more with a chinchilla so final answer is chinchilla because I feel like we have similar features and personalities."
What were you doing in the summer in middle school?
"Swimming in the Patuxent River with my friends."
What's the most interesting fact about you?
"I'm an identical twin!"
